>>>I checked my account and its not there also now it went back to saying feb10 but last night it said the process would take 3 weeks.<<<

Ok here's the information I have been given and also researched all day long.

My best understanding of the problems the IRS is having is last years stimulus checks that were sent out over the summer are causing problems in the computer systems. 1 answer I got was, "make sure you put in the correct amount you received" Another answer was, "if you received a rebate put no amount" another answer "if you put that you didn't receive a stimulus check, then the IRS has to send your check to the corrections department for human review to make sure you really didn't receive a stimulus check and if you moved and one was issued they have to make sure the check has not been cashed" No matter what reason I was given, it all came down to 1 reason. That stupid stimulus check is screwing up all our refunds and causing the HUMANS at IRS to physically check our returns which is causing delays and the last person I talked to said some people may get their refunds on the posted day, some may be delayed a week, some may be delayed 21 - 40 days.

I guess it all depends on how tired they get and what their moods are, because I talked to 10 people at the IRS today and all but 3 people were nasty, rude and not very forth coming with information and I unless you have a lot of time on your hands, don't bother to call, hold times are no less then 30 minutes.

Also, the "Where's my refund" site is rigged, if you check your status to many times in one day, it will either say, "Your refund has not been received" or No refund status" or some other stupid error message. DON'T FREAK OUT! wait 12 to 24 hours and check again, it should return to it's original date.

What if you owe IRS but have a refund?

If you owe money to the IRS for prior years taxes, and you have a refund due to you on this year's taxes, the IRS will keep the refund and apply it towards the debt that you owe.

What is the last date the IRS has to refund check?

The IRS can take as long as it needs to in order to properly verify that you are owed a refund. If they don't send your refund within 45 days after April 15 or 45 after they receive your return (whichever is later), they will pay interest. (The interest is taxable.)

If you owe the IRS can you still get a refund?

No not if you are in the FMS offset refund program and your expected refund amount is less than the amount that is owed to the IRS.

How quick can you get your income tax?

If you mail your tax return to the IRS, and the IRS decides that it is complete and accurate, they will issue you a refund check or direct deposit within six weeks of the date they received your forms. If you file your return electronically, the IRS will issue your refund check or direct deposit within three weeks of the date they acknowledge your return. The fastest way to get your tax refund is to file electronically and request direct deposit. Please note that the Refund Anticipation Loans offered by some income tax preparers are loans, and not your refund. Your refund will go to the preparer to pay back the loan, including interest and fees.

How can I get my fed tax refund quickly?

I believe that the IRS has specific dates called the IRS Tax Refund dates for your federal IRS tax refund money. On the other hand, if you file your taxes electronically, you can receive your tax refund in as little as 10 days after filing electronically, according to the IRS.

How long to get tax money back from e-filing?

Based on the date your return was accepted by the IRS, the earliest your refund will be direct deposited or mailed is shown on the IRS e-file Chart. This is a projected date based on normal processing. Please reference related links to view e-file refund process time.

If you owe the IRS can you still get a rapid refund?

I don't understand your question. A refund (rapid or otherwise) occurs when you have overpaid your taxes and the IRS owes you money. If you owe the IRS money, you will not be getting any kind of refund. If you are talking about the situation where this year's tax return shows a refund, but you still owe unpaid taxes from last year, do NOT apply for a rapid refund. The IRS will keep your refund to pay your back taxes and the rapid refund company will still charge you a fee for processing the rapid refund even though you won't be getting any refund. You've waited this long to get a refund. Even if the IRS wasn't getting your refund, is it really worth paying $100 or $200 in fees just to get your refund one week earlier? well that answer is not totally true if you owe the IRS does not mean will not get any refund back because they could have still owed it from the year before and the IRS will deduct what is owed and send out the difference

Can the IRS take your refund if your being audited but no money is due yet?

No. The IRS can only offset your refund if they have already made an assessment against you.
