My reading is, they didn't. But the Jewish religious authorities did, and to avoid big trouble with his masters in Rome, Pilate took the easy option.
Jesus meant let the spiritually dead bury the dead. If you want to live follow Jesus.
They didn't. Pilate ordered Jesus to be crucified against Roman justice, but bowed to considerable political pressure.
Christians were falsely suspected of plotting to overthrow Rome. They worshipped privately and/or secretly, which understandably caused others to suspect them of plotting something. Beause Jesus stressed pacifism, Christians refused to fight in the Roman Army, which led people to think that they were anti-Roman. This was not true; they just did not want to kill. In the same way, the Christians' understanding that the barriers of peoples/countries are artificial and that all are one in Jesus was also misinterpreted as an anti-Roman belief. For these reasons, the Roman rulers, and most non-Christian Romans, were afraid of Christianity.
The Pharisees and temple rulers wanted Jesus DEAD! He threatened their existence; they had come up with the perfect system. They made a bunch of rules (some were originally from God) that were impossible to obey perfectly; in fact, they themselves disobeyed quite often. But then, when people sinned, then they had no access to God, to ask for forgiveness. The people were 'charged' for their 'sins', and thus the rulers had everything - power, respect, money, and they were looked up to. Jesus brought a new theory, that everyone could now access God themselves, they didn't need hypocritical leaders to intercede for them, Jesus was now the interceder for all believers.

by beating all the mission before it, and waiting until roman and kate call you. if you want kate dead, revenge, if you want roman dead, deal.
The Romans did not want Jesus. Jesus was taken to Poltius Pilates, the Roman governor of Judea by the Jewish judges of the Sanhedrin. They considered Jeusus to be a blasphemous heretic and wanted the Romans to execute him.

Judea was not headed by a governor. It was administered by a prefect on behalf of the Governor of Syria. Pontius Pilate, the prefect, did not want Jesus to be executed. He thought that he was innocent. It was he crowd in Jerusalem who wanted Jesus executed.
The Jews were angry as he , Jesus said he was the son of god, the Romans were against him as they did not want their empire toppled.
There was no pilot who crucified Jesus. The man responsible for sentencing Jesus to his crucifixion was the Roman governor of Judea Pontius Pilate. Although he did not believe that Jesus deserved to be crucified, the people demanded it and he complied. However, after he allowed it, he washed his hands, symbolizing that he did not want to be acknowledged as the man responsible for Jesus' death.
The Pharisees wanted Jesus dead because they saw him as a threat to their religious authority and influence. Jesus challenged their teachings and practices, which made them feel undermined in front of the people. They also feared that Jesus' growing popularity might lead to a loss of their power and control over the Jewish community.
