The Vikings did not go north of Baffin Island because the ocean was frozen. They could not get through the ice. Instead, they established settlements on Greenland and North America.
Lindisfarne island to raid the monestery
Yes but only for a short period. Many people followed him and recent digs show that they took fox furs from Baffin Island and almost certainly fish and logs from father down the coast of Canada. Did they trade with the Aboriginals? Not likely, at least not very much. The Vikings were violent, as were Aboriginals, in particular the Skraelings, who would later cleanse Greenland of Vikings. Trade would have been limited.

No.
vikings that go hiking! i published a story for it!
The vikings told the europeans that they were going to Iceland. And by 'Iceland' they ment the small island by Greenland. At the time Greenland didn't have its name, so the europeans went to Greenland because the vikings described it as 'Iceland' and since Greenland is a very icy island. When they arrived, there were no vikings found. It was the other way around_the vikings went to Iceland, they must have named the smaller island Iceland to trick the europeans to go to Greenland.
