The WWWF was established in the early 60's then owned by Vince McMahon SR.

In the late 70's the WWWF changed to the WWF. then the WWF changed their name to WWE because of the world wildlife fund.

Because the government was trying to baan the wwf because it was all about bonebreaking and stuff so mr McMahon made an agreement with them than not to show real Wrestling to the fans so they decided to make it wwe.

don't you notice the difference at first it was wwf (world wrestling federation)and now its wwe(world wrestling entertainment) that was federation and now it is entertaiment.See it makes sense.
