All of the tattoos wear near or on acupuncture points, the discovery of Oetzi changed the perception that Chinese had discovered acupuncture. X-rays revealed that Oetzi had osteoarthritis at various joints, all of which had the markings. This is definitive proof that the markings had medical purposes.
