∙ 13y agoThe belief of the terrorists who crashed the planes into the twin towers was that the US has been interfering in the affairs of other nations for too long, and needed to be taught a lesson that other nations do not like what the US is doing and are not going to stand for it.

The Twin Towers were a symbol of American prosperity, which made them a high-profile target. The towers had also been bombed eight years earlier in an attack financed by the same man who planned the hijacking: Kahlid Sheikh Mohammed.
