The phoney war wasn't a war it was part of World War 2 when Germany was invading Poland and the northern scandanavian countries like Denmark and Norway. they allied powers were at war with Germany but didn't attack because they did not want to move passed the defenses of the maginot line so they waited for the Germans to attack and be massacred by there impenatrable fortresses but when the Germans went through belgium and attack France were it wasn't protected the phoney war ended because the Germans had finally attack the french the phoney war lasted for 6 months from September 1st to february
