Winner of the war?

North Vietnam. Actually, the credit should go to the NVA (North Vietnamese Army) they did all the work. The NVAF (North Vietnamese Air Force) did a lot of work too; but they were DEFENDING North Vietnam. Not invading South Vietnam.

Can anybody send me a link where there are details on North-Vietnam politics during the Vietnam war?

Try search engine for: North Vietnam, Vietnam War, Ho Chi Minh, Viet Minh; then look at the bottoms at the references...then go to them. Each source leads to another one. Edit by Engl1sh: You may also try Vietcong (North Vietnamese guerrilla warfare soldiers). These soldiers were hidden among South Vietnamese people and were there to topple the S. Vietnamese government. If you find information on the government in the South, you should be able to find government and politics from the North.

Why so much opposition to the draft in Vietnam?

the Vietnam war was not an American war. we got in it to fight off communism. and the vietcong and north vietnamese worked together to fight us, and south vietnamese were hardly using their army to fight, they were letting us do all of it. and Americans didnt want to go die for a lost cause.

Why did the north let the south go in the civil war?

Who supported the Vietnam war?

this is a complex question. i supported the vietnamese with the possibility of losing my life. we defeated the north vietnamese army in 1968 and could have walked into hanoi and accepted the keys. they don't tell you this in political terms. the us army never gets beat. the politicians get beat. or. the politicians tie the armys hands so they cannot be effective. so i say to anyone who can read these words never blame the army. the army will win. In the Vietnam war: * China rand Russia (and their allies) supported the North Vietnamese * The United States of America succeeded the French in supporting the South Vietnamese

How many Vietnamese North and South were in the Vietnam war?

Estimated about 1 million men per side. But REMEMBER; those men didn't pull a tour and go home. They were home! They had to stay until the war was won or lost (called during the war, "...they had to stay for the duration").

resident Eisenhower did not declare war in Vietnam. He sent military assistance and warned President Kennedy when he took office, to be aware of the domino theory (don't let Vietnam fall to the communists).

Was Nixon's foreign policy strategy a game?

Well, for a game it was certainly deadly. He had Henry Kissinger go tell South Vietnam that Nixon was a "madman," that he would fly off the handle and bomb them all if he was upset with the South Vietnamese. The South Vietnamese knew America was capable of annhilating them, and thus obeyed Nixon and continued fighting North Vietnamese communism.
