The Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia from May to September of 1787. Delegates from the different colonies came here to discuss the problems facing the government of the United States. From this convention, the U.S. Constitution emerged and was adopted.

The delegates signed the final Constitution on September 17th, 1787.
The congress provides for the organization of the Northwest Territory and outlines the steps that a territory must take in order to become a state. Delegates meet in Philadelphia and draft the Constitution. Delaware becomes the first state to ratify the Constitution.
The Constitutional Convention took place in Philadelphia from May 25 to September 17, 1787. The delegates met at the Pennsylvania State House. Due to travel difficulties and long distances, not all of the delegates were present during the early meetings.
Rhode Island did not send delegates to the Constitutional Convention.
