It was certainly due to the weight of the flooded hull, but probably aggravated by very poor rivets and a likely design flaw regarding the expansion joints. The ship broke at the joint, which was heavily modified on the Britannic and reworked on the Olympic.
The builders of the Titanic, Harland and Wolff, tried to make her unsinkable, and they didn't realize the fatal flaw in her design: the expansion joint, located between the bow and the stern. As she was going down, the water increased the weight to 30,000 tons and the Titanic couldn't bear that much, so the stern broke away and the ship sank.
The Titanic split in half because of the great pressere in the water. As the ship sank great pressures pulled a part of the ship into the water. The whole thing could't go in all at once it had to break if you see the positioning it had to break.
Because of all the pressure on the bow of the titanic from all of the that is already inside the ship which made titanic break from having too much pressure
The reason why the Titanic split into 2 was because the back half rose so high that it split in 2, because it was too much for the middle.
The titanic split because, the end of the ship rose to high so the middle couldn't hold it up any longer so it split right in the middle.
Because it hit an iceberg
the titanic did not split in half it got a hole in it because it hit an iceberg
No the Titanic did not spilt. On the star board side there were two big openings.
The hull of Titanic split (but not in half) just a few minutes before 2:20 AM on April 15, 1912.
It hit an iceberg and split in 2 and it sunk.
After Titanic sank in 1912, there was some debate about whether she split or not. Even Second-Officer Lightoller denied that she split at the inquiry, but at least 53 survivors testified/asserted that the ship broke. How she sunk could not be proven, tho, until 1985 when her wreck was found.
the titanic did split in half bob barred found out when he found the titanic

Because people thought the titanic was unsinkable

One of the theories wrt the titanic sinking was that poor quality rivets had caused the hull plates to split at the seams as opposed to being torn apart. This would have meant that the long gash had needed less force to split open.
The Titanic was a luxury liner. The liner to my pool has split and it is now leaking water.
