If i remember Andrew Jackson sign an order to remove the native Indian's. So that new settlers could settle the land and grow in income. i think that's what happen but I'm not sure

Andrew Jackson, and the Georgians of the time, wanted the gold that was discovered in Dahlonega, GA. The Cherokee's fertile land was also demanded by the Georgians, who were quickly destroying their farmland by over-use. An interesting fact is that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Cherokee, telling Jackson that it was illegal for him to force their removal, however Jackson ignored the Supreme Court and forced them out anyways.
