The Vikings attacked France for the same reason that they attacked all their other neighboring countries, space. They were quickly growing out of Scandinavia and needed more land. The land they attacked in France became known as Normandy.

This is a very good question. France is rubbish, why anyone would want to go there, let alone invade the bleeding place is beyond me.
