the viking slaves had to do whatever their owners tells them to do. If they were told to clean they had to clean, if they were told to wash their back they had to wash their back etc... One of the way for a slave to have freedom is that if they acted brave in front of their master they may get their freedom or the master would treat them more nicer. The other way to gain their freedom is to buy their freedom. They had to pay their owners how much their currently worth to gain freedom.
Hope you like my response. If you do not like it i suggest you go to Google and type in Viking slaves and there will be lots of information about it or if you can't you could ask some people who know about the vikings or you could go to the library and see if there are any books about the Vikings age. Okay BYE!!

Yes, early on, Vikings had slaves. This was something they gave up in time, though I have not seen information as to when, though certainly it was in the Middle Ages.

European serfdom was part of feudalism, which did not exist in the pagan lands of the Vikings until the coming of Christianity, at with time the Viking age was pretty much over. So, if there were serfs, they were not Vikings. The Vikings owned slaves, but the slaves were not Vikings, and they were also not serfs.

Slaves were sometimes tasked with overseeing the work and behavior of other slaves, and may have punished them in order to maintain control and prevent rebellion. Punishing other slaves could also be a way for some slaves to gain favor with their owners and potentially improve their own living conditions.
