Why wouldn't they would be the real question.
True, it is a place that is the bane of their existance but it was where they originated, were created, so where is the best place to find out how you work? also, its the place where they create all the things attacking the flock. You don't douse the tops of the flames with a fire extinguisher. You get it at the base. Besides, they have the two best pyros who can make a bomb out of anything. Once they get all their information, they could have put it up in flames. (Or, that would have been the original plan, if it were me. i don't completely remember the first and second book, but i know the basis.)
Max and the Flock headed east after they liberated Angel. That night, Angel revealed Itex had information on the Flock in a place called the Institute in New York.
tl;dr: The Institute Angel heard about in the School was located there.
Mainly New York.
If you mean what time period the book takes place that would be modern times like today with our cars and computers. if you mean where the setting is sort of all over the place from California to New York.
In The Angel Experiment, Angel (the youngest member of the Flock) is kidnapped by the Erasers (the Flock's main enemy), and they have to get her back. Once they get her back, the next main plot is to find the Institute Max keeps seeing during her "brain attacks". They go to New York City. The Erasers come back, of course, many times, making it harder for them to get anywhere without almost dying. The Angel Experiment is the first book in the Maximum Ride series, and (personally) one of the best if you asked me :) There are currently 7 books in the series: The Angel Experiment School's Out- Forever Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports The Final Warning MAX FANG ANGEL (and the last book in the series, Nevermore, is not out yet! It comes out on August 6th 2012!) Hope this helped!
the last book of maximum ride is going to be called Maximum Ride: Nevermore [patterson stated so at the riordan/patterson interview in new york]
The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson includes the following books in order: "The Angel Experiment," "School's OutβForever," "Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports," "The Final Warning," "Max," "Fang," "Angel," "Nevermore," and "Maximum Ride Forever."
All over America: their house is in Colorado The school is in death valley The cabin they stopped at is in between the Hoover Dam and Colorado The cave with the hawks was north of the Hoover Dam The institute is on 31st street, new york And The garden tavern is on 407 8th avenue
Several places...in the book, it's New York, the New York sewers, somewhere in Colorado, California, Death Valley, Ithink Virginia, and I'm pretty sure that's about it. I mean, the Flock flies over states, but nothing takes place in them.
The School is located in Death Valley, and the first half of the book takes place in the southwestern area. Later in the book, the setting moves to New York City. There are many settings in the book. There's the flock's house up in the Colorado mountains, Ella and Dr. Martinez's house in Arizona, the School, New York, the Institute for Higher Living, and the sewers. Mostly, though, it takes place in New York and Colorado.
She killed him in the sewer tunnel after they found "The Institute" in New York City, also know as "The big apple". She did not mean to kill him. Ari and Max were fighting - as usual - and Ari slipped in the sewage system when he went after Max. She ended up going after him and knocking him over and that's when he hit his head at an awkward angle, broke his neck and killed him. In other books he returns and Max thinks she's hallucinating, but she isn't. It turns out that Jeb had the power and technology to bring Ari back to life.
