"A" was actually Mona, but after Mona died, Ali became "A". The Ali that was friends with Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily was really Ali's twin sister Courtney. Courtney was a crack case and she spent her life living in a hospital. Well when Courtney came home to visit, she took Ali's ring and made it look like Ali was really Courtney. So Ali went to the hospital and Courtney destroyed Ali's life. And then Ali came back and killed Courtney for ruining her life. And now Ali's out for the other "Pretty Little Liars" to kill them for taking part on Courtney's plan.(:
