The Liberal Party which was the Whig Party in Victorian England did not intefere in private buisnesses so manufacturing companies and mining companieswere able to do what ever they want. Since money making was important for them they wanted to pay low wages to the workers who need family members to work to get more money for the family. Children also had to work.
Mostly
a) because they were small; they could get up chimneys, down tunnels, under looms.
b) because they were cheap.
And because their family needed the money
So they get money
cause they can

children didnt go to school in Victorian times as schooling was expensive and the vast majority couldn't afford to be educated. money was more important and with money they could feed themselves if nothing else so children were put to work as soon as they could be. hope this helps hun Before the Education act of about 1887, there was no enforced schooling, so if a family were poor, children did not go to school, but went to work instead.
In a Victorian work house children, adults and elderly went to work in a workhouse if they were poor or badly ill. If they broke the rules then they would be put in a cage in a dark room, fined of even put into prison!
Victorian workers who were poor, got alot less money than rich people, they had to work in chimney's, some breathed up the soot and died some worked in factories, and some got squashed by machines! it was bad working in Victorian times, you got tones of dangerous jobs, and most got killed, but survived long enough to give their family a paying from the job.
very dirty. the children usully can out of it with cuts and grazes so they were bleeding so the boss put salty water on it.
put it together domby
Children were put into child labor in which they worked in the harsh conditions of factories for long hours to provide for their families. They were not able to got to school and sometimes were locked in the factories so they would have no other option except work.
A little of everything. One of the things they used children for in the woolen mills was to clean out from under the big machines that spun the cloth. Children were small so they could get under the wheels and clean the lint. If the lint wasn't cleaned it could cause a fire. The big problem with that is that they never stopped the machines so the children would get caught in the machine and killed doing the work. Children were worked 14 or more hours a day and could be as young as 5 years old. They had no breaks and were given no meal times. Some factories locked their workers into the factory during the shifts. That happened in NYC with a factory that made shirts and the people making and sewing the shirts were killed when a fire started and they couldn't get out because the doors were locked. Many of people who died that day were little girls working there. In many places in the world children are still worked the same way they were 90 years ago here. Factories who make our basketballs, dolls, shoes, and other things are full of child workers.
They would put them on the top of their Christmas trees.
All cloth made or designed in a factory is pollution. Factories put out 3-4 times more carbon dioxide than cars.
it was a guaranteed payment for the family. some children prefered working in factories than working outside. the parents believed that children should have earned their living and helped put food on to the table and this is what child labour did.
