You should describe your problem more, it's hard to say anything from "it catched on fire"
i posted this in the discussion bit :
i recently bought a new motherboard and installed ram, cpu, heatsink and psu. when i powered the motherboard up it quickly started flaming and smoking soi turned it off.
ive tried the psu on another motherboard and its seems to be fine.
i was wondering if anyone knows why this might have happened.

I do not know what the motherboard you have so your question is a good one. Find someone in your neiborhood who has the same motherboard as see what power supply they use. The other way is to fit one of the power supplies to the motherboard and see if it catches fire
