Urban life leads to the disenchantment due to the fact that many things were going on in the 1300s. The cost of daily food was getting to expensive for peasants and other people back in the day. Diseases such as the Black Death cost many workers to die so the demand for workers was high which meant higher wages.

Housing was also a part because brick houses were more common and those few who had a bed slept great while others had to sleep on sacks filled with straw.
