Currently, the world is mad at China for not helping the global recession. China will not let its people buy products from any other country and importers and exporters are being taxed.
Taiwan(Republic of China) is a democratic country and we have "president".We have presidential election every four years. We can talk about politics freely. In 1971,Taiwan were replaced by China and Taiwan quit to join UN. Even now, China still force many countries not to let Taiwan join the UN. We really want to join the UN. Taiwan always participate in many international meetings so as to let this world know Taiwan. Taiwan's living standard is better than China! However,China(People's of Republic of China) is a country which is ruled by"communists".And citizens in China can't talk about politics.People from Tibet really hate China's government and they burn theirself to show their anger.People from China really admire Taiwan's political system.
Napoleon Bonaparte once said of China, "Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world."
kind of... at first we went to annex it by asking (telling) the leader of Hawaii that we were going to annex them, but they said no, so we came back later ( like 6 months to a year) with battle ships and army and threatened them. They then let us annex them :)
Let's hope for Tibet's sake!Answer:No one can overcome anyone else except in a limited sense. It is only when a people become aware of their shortcomings that they can overcome themselves. The Dalai Lama's good example and positions may improve the mindset of the leaders of China to treat Tibetans equitably.
The Dalai Lama is seeking to split Tibet from China. Chinese Gov't wants to retain the military strategic significance of the Tibetan Plateau (perfect location to protect against nuclear weapon countries like India and Pakistan), Oil resources, Secure it's boundaries, cannot let one territory become independent for fear of becoming another USSR AND the untapped natural resources of Tibet.

At the age of two, Tenzin Gyatso was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama. Thirteen years later, in 1950, he was enthroned as the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. The Nechung Oracle was his oracle, and the official state oracle for Tibet. The Nechung Oracle had predicted that the 14th Dalai Lama would lose his country. He also predicted that the Dalai Lama would lose his life if he didn't leave in 1959. For that year, there was an attempt to end nine years of Chinese occupation. The uprising failed, and the Chinese eliminated the resistance movement. Though himself a Hindu, Indian Prime Minister Nehru let the Dalai Lama set up a government-in-exile just across the Tibet-India border, in Dharmsala. For Dharmsala already had an established Tibetan community, and established Buddhist monasteries. It has been predicted that if the Dalai Lama lives to be 100, he will get his country back.

Firstly why wouldn't they it is one of the biggest tourist sights in China. As for why I would guess to let people commemorate their trip and to let people know China. Don't worry Chinese do a good job at protecting their cultural and historical relics.
