∙ 9y agoIt wasn't her time. For whatever reason, Helen Hunt received more votes for Best Actress for her performance in "As Good As It Gets" (1997). Like Winslet, Hunt is a formidable actress, having won four Primetime Emmys, four Golden Globes and two Screen Actors Guild awards in addition to her Oscar.
Winslet eventually won the 2009 Best Actress Oscar for her performance in "The Reader."
