Why didn't Odysseus stop his men from eating the cattle of the sun god?

The sun god, Helios, gets mad and threatens Zeus to go to the underworld forever if he doesn't punish Odysseus's' men. So Zeus throws a lightning bolt and everyone, but Odysseus, dies. In addition, when the men eat the beef, the skin and the meat wiggle around as it is cooked (disgusting), but the men don't care, representing the materialism they possess, and comparing them to the suitors.

∙ 12y agoIn the basis of this answer: There was two factors in resulting this:
1) Poseidon (Neptune): He has cursed misfortune to Odysseus that ended (I know there is a whole story but, in effect it ended up in the island)
2) Hunger of the Men: They have been starving for a long time. "I would die with a full stomach then to die starved" (Or something like that)
In your opinion, would you been able to keep your hunger after starving for months?

∙ 9y agoIn The Odyssey, Odysseus didn't stop his men from eating the cattle of the sun god. This is because they regarded starvation to be the worst kind of death.
