American aboriginals (Indians) ate everything from rabbits to birds, to eggs, deer, antelope, and any other animals that could be eaten for food.
The buffalo was more important to the western plains indians due to many factors. The native americans relied on the buffalo for many resources, from food to basic needs of soap and hairbrushes. However, the horses only made journeys for the americans easier and quicker, they didnt develop an easier way of general life for them
As with all Native tribes, the Plains tribes lived off the land. Although the buffalo was their main staple, they did hunt deer, elk and small game. Also the women would gather berries, roots and nuts. In addition, they would trade with other tribes for different kinds of food.
The French settlers traded furs with the Indians.
Buffalo nickels didnt start until 1913.
The Plain Indians didnt have a strict law. The Indians worst punishment would be banishment, which is equal to a very bad death. They didnt have any leaders to take contol and their was no formal law for them to follow so they went by their tradition and custom.
There were many tribes who used the horses to hunt buffalo. Primarily they were the Plains tribes. The Commanche, Cheyenne, Sioux, Arapaho were just some of the more famous tribes.
