Oviedo is not in Spain it is in Florida Oviedo Spain is in northwestern Spain and is the capital of the Principality of Asturias. Oviedo Spain was founded in 761 AD and has a population of 226,000+. Oviedo Florida was incorporated in 1925 and has a population of 26,000+. It looks to me as if the Spanish Oviedo is more than 14 times as old and 9 times as populous.
HE captured several Spanish forts, drove the current governor of Florida out and proved to the Spanish that Florida did more bad than good.
In 1783, Spain controlled less of North America than in 1713. In 1713, Spain held vast territories in North America, including present-day Florida, parts of the Southwest, and California. However, by 1783, Spain had ceded Florida to Britain in the Treaty of Paris (1763) and had lost control of territories in the Southwest to Mexico and the United States.

The United States acquired Florida from Spain. Spain ceded it to the U.S. by signing the Adams-Otis Treaty in 1819. Indians and escaped slave were using Florida as a base to stage raids on the US territory north of Florida. Spain did not have the resources it would need to stop the raids. so the US sent in an army which took possession of the Spanish fort in Florida and too control of the area. The US Army commander, Andrew Jackson, exceeded his authority and there was an international protest when he arrested the Spanish governor, but Spain was really in a position to do any more than protest and the treaty resulted. The treaty actually ceded some land all the way to West Coast and gave some justification to US later US claims against Mexico.
In 1783, Spain controlled more territory in North America than it did before the American Revolutionary War. Following the Treaty of Paris in 1783, Spain regained Florida from Britain and continued to hold significant territories, including parts of the modern-day southwestern United States and Mexico. This expansion solidified Spain's presence in North America during that period.
