American Jews as a voting group tend to be socially liberal (there are some exceptions, mainly Orthodox Jews, but they are not a large percentage of America's Jewish population), and they tend to be Democrats. Further, even many of those who are Independent feel the Republican party has become far too conservative. They are uncomfortable about how (as they see it) today's Republican party is dominated by an extremist faction that wants to impose a certain theology and a certain set of moral beliefs on everyone. Also, contrary to myths spread by a number of Republican politicians, Mr. Obama is not anti-Israel, nor is he anti-Semitic, so there is no reason why the average Jewish voter would find the president difficult to support.

Is Obama good for Jews?

It does not appear Obama will not support Israel. It is a wonder that Jews vote Democrat in such large numbers when their values are more closely aligned with Republicans.

I have to write a book report on Barack Obama can you give me some ideals?

Certainly! Here are a few key ideas you can consider for your book report on Barack Obama: Historic significance: Highlight Obama's achievement as the first African American President of the United States and discuss how it broke barriers and inspired marginalized communities. Economic policies: Analyze Obama's response to the 2008 financial crisis, including his measures to stimulate the economy, reform financial regulations, and expand healthcare through the Affordable Care Act. Foreign policy: Examine Obama's approach to international relations, such as his efforts to improve diplomacy, nuclear disarmament, the pursuit of the Iran nuclear deal, and the pivot to Asia. These are just a few suggestions, but there are many more aspects of Obama's presidency that you could explore in your book report.

Why is Barack Obama so popular in France that the want him as their President?

There is a movement in France to have him as their next President. Obama is popular because he shares the French view on Jews and he supports the Prophet. While he is not a citizen of France, he was President of the USA and not a citizen their either.

Was Ann Dunham Jewish?

No, she was not. By all accounts, she was a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. Her parents who raised her were also Protestants (and they were the ones who raised young Barack when she was not able to do so). Barack Obama does have a multi-religious family, and his relatives include Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims. It is Michelle Obama who has Jews in her family-- her first cousin is a famous rabbi.

Which religion does Barack Obama follow?

Barack Obama is a Muslim. He follows the Sunni tradition, and is by most accounts, a moderate in terms of his practice. He has attended a number of different Black Liberation Theology churches that purport to be Christian while working as a community organizer.

Is barry soetoro gay?

First, there is no "Barry Soetoro." This is a common "Birther" myth spread by people who refuse to believe Barack Obama was born in Hawaii (even though he was). Mr. Obama did in fact get a step-father named Lolo Soetoro, but according to numerous credible sources, Mr. Soetoro never formally adopted Barack, nor did Barack ever use his step-father's last name during his life. He did go through a period of being known as "Barry" rather than Barack, but his last name remained Obama. Second, contrary to various anti-Obama websites, there is NO credible evidence that Barack Obama was raised a Muslim. He was mainly raised by his mother (a non-practicing Christian) and by his maternal grandparents, who were Protestants (some sources say Methodists, others say Unitarians). Mr. Obama has relatives in Africa who are Muslim, but he also has relatives who are Buddhists, Jews, and various denominations of Christians. He has always said he is a Christian, and there is no proof that he ever practiced any other religion. He has also always said he was raised to have respect for all religious traditions; has repeatedly demonstrated that belief by holding holiday celebrations for Jews, Muslims, Christians, and others at the White House.

Does Barack Obama has a relation to Jews?

Yes and no. Mr. Obama is Christian, but his family has many religions in it-- he has relatives who are Buddhist, Muslim, and Christian. He also has many long-time friends who are Jewish, although none of them are related to him. But you may be thinking of his wife Michelle-- she too is Christian, but her first cousin is a well-known Jewish person, a rabbi from Chicago.

Do Jews support or oppose same-sex marriage?

A 2012 poll shows that 78% of American Jews support same-sex marriage, while 21% oppose it. It should be noted that Orthodox Judaism does not accept same-sex marriage or sexual relations.

What is the similarity between Barack Obama and Moses?

There probably isn't one. While Barack Obama's supporters love and admire him, it is unfair to compare him (or any popular president) to a religious figure. Moses was the Law-giver, a prophet who (according to the beliefs of Jews, Christians, and Muslims) was able to communicate directly with God Himself. Even the most dedicated Obama supporter could never claim the president speaks directly with God, nor could the president be considered a prophet. Further, the president is an excellent public speaker, while according to the Book of Exodus, Moses had a speech impediment and was reticent to go and speak to Pharaoh. Both Moses and President Obama worshiped the same God, but Moses was a Hebrew, and one of the founders of what became the Jewish religion, while Mr. Obama is from the Christian tradition. Both were certainly considered leaders, but the role of Moses was not political-- it was spiritual, and involved leading the Israelites out of Egypt and into the Promised Land; Mr. Obama, on the other hand, is from the world of politics, and his role is leading the United States government. Thus, these are two different men with two very different missions in life.
