if you ask me, i would say that Jesus were crucified on the cross, and that became the symbol for Christianity. people are often seen wearing a cross in their neck, or some keep it in their house because they believe that Jesus will save them from any calamity. they believe, as long as the cross is there with them, no harm or damage could be caused by anybody to them.
