to show that they are married
to KEEP AWAY DEVIL
If you mean the sindoor on women's foreheads, no they are not. It is a washable, red powder.
Cause laser pointers are really cheap in India
They killed indians. Feathers, not dots.
Generally, yes we Indians have bindis. Now a days, it is used for fashion purposes but the real reason we would put kunkoo or a tikka on our foreheads is way to symbolizing the worship to our intellect. Also, women wear it in the parting of their hair as a marrige "status".
Big foreheads
Actually, yes, most of us Somali guys have rather big foreheads. I used to think that my hairline was receding or something when I was younger, but it's actually just the size of our foreheads. I don't really know why we have big foreheads though, it's usually deemed "unattractive" by society, but I think we look just fine :)
People have varying opinons as to what they find attractive on another person. You may be so in love with foreheads because it is especially visually appealing to you.
they used to use blue ink (on their foreheads) but lapiz became scarce due to the demand of artisans wanting to use it for their paint; so they started using red which was easier to and cheaper to get.
The red dot in forehead is called BINDIA bindi(from Sanskrit bindu meaning a drop, dot is worn in South Asia comprising India and Bangladesh. The area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra ajna the seat of "concealed wisdom". According to followers of Hinduism, this chakra is the exit point of energy. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration. It is also said to protect against demons or bad luck.A common misconception about the bindi in the western world is that only married Hindu women wear red bindis as a symbol of wedlock. In modern times, bindis are worn by women of many religious dispositions in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and is not restricted to Hindus.
actually to correct you. Indian women have red dots on there foreheads because that symbolizes that they are married and have a husband. now a days women in America and India were them for fashion and religious reasons. :) if you need anymore help just ask more questions and ill answer them. i know about India because my parents were born in India and i am an Asian. or Indian. ^^^Actually men do have the red dots as well so it was a correct question to ask.
Dots cannot be connected with dots. It takes lines.
