The ideals of the Sikh faith advise the devotee to rise early in the morning and meditate on God. Meditation, known as naam jap or naam simran, is usually done while sitting comfortably, cross-legged, on the floor.Nitnem is a set of morning, evening, and bedtime prayers which are read or recited daily, while sitting or standing. Sikhs normally do not say prayers while kneeling as Christians or Catholics do. Some Sikhs occasionally use prayer beads, called a mala, to help with concentration.Extended prayer may take the form of Sejh, Sidharan or Akhand Paath, either intermittent or unbroken reading of the complete Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh scripture. A formal prayer of supplication, called Ardas, is offered while standing. Prayer and meditation focuses on praising God, and may take the form of singing as in kirtan. Sikhs believe prayer and meditation to be essential in attaining desirable qualities and overcoming ego. Sikh scripture counsels that each breath is an opportunity for prayer.
Guru Arjun wrote: "Twenty-four hours a day, O Nanak, meditate on the Guru, the path to enlightenment."

Sikhs worship God
Gurdwara
The Sikhs worship at a place called: A gurdwara. There is normally an orange flag outside the Gurdwara with a khandaon it. Gurdwara means Guru's House.
Sikhs don't go to pilgrimage, Sikhism as a religion is oppose to pilgrimage. Though Sikhs do like to visit some particular places of their worship (Gurudwara) but that is because it holds historical and cultural significance. As for worship of God, anytime and anyplace is good for it.
Sikhs DO NOT worship Guru Nanak. They worship the Divine Light of God that is in Guru Nanak. Guru Nanak is NOT a deity in the Sikh religion, he is a teacher. Sikhs still bow today to Guru Granth Sahib. That does not mean they worship it, it means they revere the Divine Knowledge that it contains.
Sikhism as a religion is oppose to idol worship, therefore Sikhs never make any idol or pictures of God. Also, Sikhs only worship God. As for Gurus, the depiction of Guru's pictures can only help one to relate one's thought to Guru's instruction but otherwise, there shouldn't be any reason for pictures of Gurus. But if any Sikh worship the picture of a Sikh Guru then that Sikh is not only performing idol worship but also worshiping the God in the form of a picture which Sikhism opposes as a religion as mentioned above.
