ck fuel pressure. my sharan did this - but at lower speed. Turned out to be a sticking waste gate (bypass) valve on the turbocharger. Garage wanted large sums - bottle of engine cleaner in the fuel seems to have helped a lot.

The service engine did not shut your car down, It was the part that turned the light on, (not the computer monitoring system) You need to determine what turned the light on that's very likely what turned your car off.
