some of them are.
No there are no chat rooms on WikiAnswers. The closest thing to a chat room is your personal message board. You can use that to have 1 on 1 conversations with other contributors.

the smartest thing to do is ask.
You can, but it isn't the smartest thing to do.
The worst thing (which is the only bad thing) about WikiAnswers is the vandals. The vandals only aim to ruin WikiAnswers, and is the only bad thing about WikiAnswers. Vandles i think are the best thing about wikianswers as it adds a little spice to an otherwise boring website. ( ie Squirrelman) By the way i am going to haunt you Squirrelman if you change this i will get you!
Everything. Everything you see is the best thing about WikiAnswers. The community, questions, everything.
This is an opinion thing, but a lot of people think that it's actually important. It depends on contributors motivations which many times can be influenced by the contributors age as well as their educational level. There will always be an influence of those that wish to disrupt the serious side of the website with questions that appear to have no relevance. Unfortunately as WikiAnswers continues to grow so will the number of people that wish to simply play around. There are of course areas of the system that are created for this however some users may not yet have found this area to play around. As well as the much much younger crowd that may not yet have the skill set to formulate their questions in a more articulate manor.
A logical choice would be the smartest thing to do.
Investing it would be the smartest thing to do
'This thing' is not a robot. WikiAnswers is made up of many volunteer contributors throughout the world, and each and every one of them is human. So, a user may not answer your question because it is hard to understand, they can't understand it at all, and many other reasons, including that they just do not know the answer.
There really isn't a position to "help" new WikiAnswers users. Supervisors will generally help out a new user if they have the time, but there isn't a position in which one "helps out" a new user. Many will do it to be nice, however. Often, new contributors go back to their 'WikiGreeter' for advice, or post a question on the Community forum.
Not all WikiAnswers are wrong, but sometimes the questions are. This is an example of one of those. The answers that are wrong are usually that way because of vandals and trolls who come on WikiAnswers and give nonsense answers because they believe it is fun. Although WikiAnswers does have a program called Vandal Patrol, a group of supervisors devoted to removing nonsense and troll-tracks, many WikiAnswers contributors do their part in reporting vandals when they discover them.If you do find an answer that is wrong, the best thing to do is to edit it to make it correct (the assumption being that if you recognize it is wrong, you will know the right answer). Failing the editing or addition of a new answer, just remove the bad answers. We WikiAnswers contributors are doing our very best to try to keep vandals at bay, and give the right answers. We apologize for any wrong answer given on the site. Be assured that it will be fixed as soon as it is reported or discovered.
