I am not sure that they do. I am an adult, and I have never seen a show that told me that it was bad to watch cartoons. I still watch them sometimes, even though adults are a lot busier than kids usually, and we have less time to watch. But cartoons are still fun, and many adults still watch them. In fact, some cartoon shows are made for adults.

Why is it that most teens and adults like to watch grown up shows and not cartoons?
I'm guessing that adults and teens don't find the comedy in these cartoons amusing which i get because i am a teen! "grown up" shows like family guy seem much more amusing because they have crude humor that they find funnier, people mature with age and those dumb kiddie cartoons don't seam to be mature or like you said grown up enough. but cartoons like Disney's classic "steamboat willie" (please look it up on youtube) are hilarious to everybody, so very good choice.
