In the very early days of flying, pilots would fly between locations following the road system. By sitting on the left, they would keep the road in sight through their front and left side window. The pilot flying in the opposite direction would do likewise, there by ensuring that they did not have a head on crash

Due to the rotation of the main rotor, when flying forward at any speed, the helicopter generates lift unevenly. The side of rotor that is advancing through the airstream produces more lift than the side of the rotor which is retreating through the airstream.

On most (nearly all) helicopters the rotor spins such that more lift is produced on the right side. Since the pilot is sometimes the only one on the helicopter, it is natural to put his weight on that side.

Additionally, helicopters have 2 levers for controlling the aircraft. The cyclic, like your standard joystick controls the pitch and roll, and the collective controls the lift of the helicopter as well as engine throttle. Since the collective goes on the floor between the seats, it is generally preferred for the pilot to sit on the right, allowing him to control the cyclic with his right hand and the collective with his left.

Airplanes on the other hand only have one primary control for the hands, the yoke or flightstick. All the rest of the controls consist of the various switches and levers on the instrument panel. It is best in this case to have the yoke in the left hand and have the right hand free to fiddle with all the instruments.

Tradition more than anything else. I imagine it originally had something to do with the direction the rotor turned, making it easier to turn the aircraft in that direction rather than against the torque of the rotor blades, and the pilot sat on the side that gave him the best visibility for making turns. Over the years, newer aircraft were developed with the pilot sitting on the right side because that's the way that previous pilots had learned to fly the aircraft, and so continued the tradition into the modern day.

There's no real reason why the aircraft can't be flown from the left side, but over the years, helicopters have been developed and built to favor the pilot in the right seat.

cause they like the right seat. It is right, sitting on the left is wrong.

How can you tell which side is which on an aircraft?

If you're facing forwards then the left hand side of the aircraft is on your left and the right hand side is on your right. Reverse this if you're facing the rear of the aircraft.

In Aircraft Why did the captain placed in right hand side .?

The captain is NOT "placed in right hand side". In all aircraft the captain is on the left side.

What happens to the advancing blade of a helicopter?

The "advancing blade" of a helicopter refers to the side of the rotor which moves forward in relation to the fuselage. As each rotor blade makes a full circle around the center, on one side of the swing, it moves forward, and on the opposite side it is moving towards the rear of the helicopter. When the helicopter is moving forward in air, the rotor blades on the advancing side are moving at a higher airspeed than the rotor blades elsewhere. Rotor speed + aircrafts forward airspeed. This results in slightly more lift on that side. Conversely the exact opposite is happening on the other side where you get Rotor speed - aircraft forward airspeed. This creates a tendency for helicopters to want to roll at high airspeed. This is one of the many odd tendencies of rotor aircraft that pilots are constantly adjusting to balance out.

Can you fly an airplane with a licenced person who flies a plane?

How do you think student pilots are able to fly? In side-by-side aircraft, they typically sit in the "left seat," considered the pic (pilot in command) seat, with the instructor in the right (passenger) seat. In tandem trainers, the instructor sits in the back seat, away from most of the instrumentation.

What is the angle of attack of a helicopter blade?

It varies for all blades collectively as you pull up or push down on the collective. and alternates from side-to-side and front-to back as you move the cyclic. If you move the cyclicto the right it decreases the angle of attack on the right side and increases the angle of attack on the left side. Since the right side loses lift and the left side gains lift the helicopter will bank and turn to the right. The angle of attack of all the blades at hover will be about zero.
