people want to know the unknown things in the space like coloumbus's
exploration through the sea. they want to know about the aliens, who are belived to be living in some other planets,as our human behaviour is, featuring to know about the neighbours,and to the facilities and wealth of them ,this same feature made them to explore space.
Humankind has always been fascinated by what is beyond our world, but the satisfaction of this curiosity was only feasible when our technology was sufficiently advanced breach the hold of gravity, circa 1960. The deciding factor in this realization of said curiosity was the Cold War funding pumped into space programs by the United States and the Soviet Union in what was ultimately a pissing match between the two to prove who was superior.

∙ 7y agoTelescopes: Many, many times more effective in space because they are not trying to see through earths atmosphere. This is a tremendous advantage. Probes: Well designed and built space probes tell us great amounts of things about our solar system and beyond at a tiny fraction of the cost a manned mission would cost - and much more safely, too. The space telescopes, and the space probes have been one of the highest "return-for-dollar" investments in the entire history of the space program - and they will be used even more extensively in the future.

∙ 8y agoFor hundreds of Generations, Humanity has gazed at the heavens wondering what could be beyond the sky. Plus The Human is born to have a sense of curiosity. Also (IF) for some reason we need to evacuate earth from whatever catastrophic reason, we will have the know how to successfully and safely leave the earth. As for exploring other planets, those discoveries may lead to understanding the origin of the solar system.

Through telescopes. We have more ground based telescopes than we have instruments in space, though we have also learned a great deal through some space missions, such as through the COBE & WMAP satellites. Optical telescopes provide a wealth of information, but we can see further using radiotelescopes, and we can penetrate deeper through clouds of interstellar gas with infrared telescopes.
