The usual answer is to cut down on wind resistance (or water resistance if they're a swimmer). It may not look like it, but the combined additional surface area created by all that hair, even the shortest hairs found on an athlete's arms and legs, is believed by many to provide enough resistance to potentially (and substantially) slow them down.
It reduces the drag of his or her, guys shave too, legs or arms
No.
Athletes shave their legs to eliminate as much wind or water resistance as possible. Swimmers actually see pretty significant decreases in their time when they shave their bodies.
You don't HAVE to shave anything. I suggest shaving under the arms, on the legs, don't shave your arms! It'll grow back thick and dark. As for private areas, use Nair and ask your mom to get your some razers.
A liar!
We Can Shave everywhere where we have hair. It can be Upper Lip, Pubic Hair, Armpits, Arms, Legs, back, ect

Some high school swim teams have a tradition of requiring athletes to shave their legs, arms, and underarms before competitions. This practice is believed to reduce drag in the water and improve performance, but it is not a rule enforced by all swim teams.
Yes he does. If your wondering he also shaves his under arms and other areas ;)
Women commonly shave the hair off many parts of their body, including legs and arms. Men also shave hair off public and private parts of their body.
