Why do banks rob people?

Generally people feel they need to rob a bank in desperation when they need a large amount of money that they would not be able to acquire otherwise. Also some people just do it out of greed and stupidity thinking that it may be easy or they could get away with it which in a lot of cases isn't true as most/all banks have high security and safety measures installed to stop this from happening.

As with virtually all corporations, the people who run banks are motivated primarily by profit and, when taken as a whole, are quite willing to resort to unethical or underhanded methods of maximizing profits. A number of banks have an enormous amount of power and so make it difficult to regulate them.
