fruit and seed eaters like parrot have short,hooked and strong beak like nut cracker to crack hard fruits and seeds. Pigeons have strong,hard and pointed beaks to pick up grains.A duck has broad flat and spoon-like beak .To dig soft mud near a pond to find worms with the help of it's beak.A woodpecker have strong, sharp and pointed beak like chisel like beak.It make hole in the trunk of the tree with it's help and also catches insects. Birds of preys like eagles,owl and vultures have strong ,sharp and hooked beak with the help of their beak it can tear the flesh of their preys

It is due to the adaptation of the environment and of aviablity of type of food to the birds that made them to modify there beaks according to it. This is called use and disuse of any organ which is also one of the point of Darwin theory of evolution.
