The darker the eyes, the more light is absorbed as light waves pass through the eye, and the less light is available to reflect within the eye. Light reflection (scatter) within the eye can cause susceptibility to glare (eg. sun or headlights) and to poor contrast discernment. Thus it seems that people with darker eyes may have better vision in high-glare situations - perhaps this makes them better night drivers, for example.
Eye colour may also affect your colour vision. Here it seems that lighter eyes may provide some advantages.

∙ 14y agoRandom genetics. If your mother has brown eyes and your father has blue, you could get blue or brown. If one grandmother had blue eyes and the rest had green, you could get blue or green. Again, random genetics.

Why does everything have a blue tint after you open your eyes when you sunbathe?
Many of my friends do not have a blue tint in their vision after sunbathing even without wearing glasses. People like us may just be able to see ultra violet light a bit better. Only other answer I can think of is that it could just be cone damage from the UV radiation and the blue tint is your eyes way of readjusting and repairing.
