That the bugs need food sources, mating venues, and resting places and that plants meet these needs are reasons why bugs infest plants. Infestation is more likely to occur on plants which environmentally are stressed by extreme weather or severe planting conditions such as extended droughts, heavy flooding, inappropriate pH, and infertile soils.
