The prickles on a cactus are an adaption for it's natural environment because it's a self defense mechanism because of the lack of water in the desert travelers and animals would try to rip open cactuses for the cactus juices but it's actually poisouness
Yes, in fact in Arizona some residents place short fences along the length of their property to discourage hedgehogs from entering and attacking their feline loved ones. Hedgehogs, like possums, are known for the rivalry created between themselves and cats, and will attack a cat for no apparent reason. Don't know if it's still on YouTube but, there was a video called "Simon vs. The Hedgehog" where a hedgehog and a cat fight to the death. Gruesome video, but long story short, the cat wins.
It depends. The average Bird Eater's bite isn't worse than a painful bee sting, and is not dangerous for healthy humans. People with allergies has a slightly bigger chance of affecting the health, like fever and some unpleasant experiences. All in all, the poison in the Bird Eaters is a neurotic type of poison, designed to paralyze the foe before the spider itself injects the enzymes. and the amount of neurotic poising isn't adequate to paralyze a 50 kg human. Some numbness may occur in the point of bite.I hope this answer meets your requests, but please, use these answers as a guideline and not as a final answer. I deeply recommend that once a spider (any kind) is approached, be very cautious.Best regards from an above-average-arachnidae-interested person.
