Best Answer

the pan was not properly greased. The best way is to grease with shortening and the lightly coat with flour. Using a grease product is important in making cakes and keeping clean-up and pan sanitation in good shape!

Pan not greased well enough or the cake is not baked well enough. Always dab a skewer in the middle of the cake to make sure it's baked enough. If it comes out clean it is.

Answer

Your oven temperature may be too hot or your shelf is not in the middle. Once the cake is cooked, gently remove it from the pan--take your time scraping it loose. Once you have it out, you can put the uneven cake bottom face up, cover it with icing and then the other layer.

Are paper cake liners used to bake cakes or only placed on cake after baking?

It is preferred that you use baking cups so they will not stick to the pan or crumble when you try to eat them. If you are making them for a party or event, stick with baking cups. Otherwise, when you just feel like making some, it is recommended that you use Vegetable Cooking Spray :)
