in many parishes it is a tradition for preteen and teen girls to wear infant type baptiam outfits to symbolize their purity and innocence of an infant for baptism.some parishes require the outfits,others recommend them.the infant type outfits are mainly worn for baptism at Easter vigil on Easter Sunday.a white cloth baptism diaper and plastic pants is usually worn under the tights along with a white tee shirt.the baptism underwear is then saved and put back on the girls and worn under her first holy communion dress to symbolize the same purity for first communion.
