I had a cat who used to do that too... I asked a vet and they said that the reason they did that is because they remember their parents. Even if they are full grown cats. Oh and by the way my cat used to also knead it too. LOL

Its a sign that the kitten was taken away from its mother too early. My cat did that for years and it didn't harm him. When I held him in my arms, he would purr and knead my shirt sleeve and suck it until I had a big wet spot there. He was a sweet and loving cat, so I didn't mind it.

Awww! That sounds so cute!!! Probably because he finds it comforting.

He was probably separated or weened to soon from their mother. My cat will do it (it's SO cute!!!) all the time. I looked it up and that is the response I got. Hope that helps...

Well, the kneading part is actually a reflex. Kittens do this to get milk from their mother, as it won't come out with just sucking.

A cat kneads (or, as some people call it, make biscuits,) as a sign of contentment. Cats will do this, no matter how old, when exceptionally comfortable or happy.

Cats squat while kneading because when they were kittens, they would've had to squat to reach mummy cat's teats.

Cats tend to knead when they are happy. It is a natural motion that they usually do on a mother's stomach, for milk, but you shouldn't give older cats regular milk. Basically, a cat is pleased or happy when it kneads.

I am not exactly sure, but it may be just for comfort. My mom's kitten suckles on herself because she was taken from her momma too soon. Many cats suck on their wrists for comfort, but I have never heard of a cat that sucks on a blanket.. It may also be that the cat smells something or some one on the blanket that makes them happy! These are just some reasons that may answer your question. I hope this helps your reasoning.

It probably reminds her of the comfort she felt when nursing from her mother.

The habit is called 'wool-sucking'. It's a comfort thing, like small children sucking their thumbs. It helps the cat settle down and get comfotable, especially when it is nervous.

Cat's like soft things they can lay on or hide under. Your cat is probably obsessed with your plush blanket for these reasons.
