Some churches have 2 steeples when there are different denominations using the same building. This is so each denomination can enter through a specific side of the church and essentially makes it 2 different churches.

Towers are a common element of religious architecture worldwide and are generally viewed as attempts to reach skyward toward Heavens and the Divine. God loves the churches and temple's we build to honor him. When we gather together in the church with the desire to worship him; he looks down from heaven and smiles. He loves it and is happy when we his children, gather together to worship him and give him praise! Who doesn't like when we worship God in the temple? Satan! Satan would like for us to not have churches or steeples on our churches. Yes it's true! God showed me a church he wanted built in Kherson, it had a steeple in fact it has two steeples; one large and tall the other shorter. The large one at the front and the shorter to the rear. So celebrate God! The steeples? Let the whole community and the whole world know we are here to worship the Lord God! Bell's? Yes! Let's ring the church bells in celebration of God! The steeples identify the building as a house of worship to God on high, the creator. I don't know why God loves the steeples on his house but he truly does! It's his decision, not mine! So build church's with steeples pointing to heaven. Do it with joy! Worship him, celebrate him and give him thanks for everything!!!!! He also has asked that a church be built in Moscow; this church shall have 3 steeples! Yes, three! He showed me the church and it has 3 steeples. There is one tallest and two others one shorter than the other. I like to think of them as representing "The Father, "The Son", and the "Holy Spirit". It's magnificent! God said, "Place these church's in the mist of the evil and worship me!" From these church's the widows, orphans; sick, hopeless, hungry, homeless, imprisoned, and dissolute and all who desire God will be cared for! Jesus said "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25; 35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Church steeples' height is determined entirely by the architect, you would have to ask the particular architect who designed the church in question.

Churches with steeples are said to be created because when someone looks at one, they are looking up. If a person is looking up near a church, then they are looking up at Heaven.

Why are Mormon churches the only churches allowed to have steaples?

They aren't. City codes dictate which buildings can have steeples and how high they can be, but it is against the constitution to allow one religious denomination to have a steeple and not another, the city can only restrict the height of the steeple. A majority of Christian churches have steeples or towers of some form or another, regardless of their denomination. If a church isn't allowed to have a steeple, it has to do with the city codes, the zoning, and the height of the steeple, not what denomination they are. Check out the "Related Links" to see churches of various religious denominations that have steeples.

I think that there is just 1 in Quebec surprisingly. I am doing a research project on the churches in Quebec and I havge only found 1 Catolic church. Sory if this is not helpful. :P Although there are not as many churches in Québec City as in Rome, the city of the "300 steeples" or Montréal the city of the "100 clochers", there are a great many Catholic churches in Québec's capital city.

How many Christians go to church at Christmas?

Depends on the denomination. Some churches run multiple services on a Sunday; others will have only one. Most churches will have a Sunday morning service, starting between 10-11am. Some churches will have an early service at breakfast time (8am), and others will have a second service in the evening - frequently with a more study-oriented structure. Most Christians would attend one service as a matter of course, with a second for a specific purpose when required.
