Why do computers need a user interface?
Without a user interface of some sort, a user cannot interact with the computer. If you cannot interact with a computer, you cannot tell it to do something, and cannot retrieve information from it.
Back in the day, there was no "GUI," a graphic user interface. You had to have a lot more computer knowledge to get the information you needed--most requests were in a programming language, like Basic. With interfaces, you could quickly access functions minus the programming issues.
What software is used to provide an interface between the user and the computers application programs?

What isThe fundamental programming that controls the way computers interact with their components and the user is the?
A graphical user interface uses things like icons and images in order to operate. Windows and Mac use Graphical User Interfaces. A character user interface, or a command line interface is operated by typing in commands. Older systems on PCs, like DOS and systems on some mainframe computers use command line interfaces. latest development is Natural User Interface (NUI)
Ovbiously, all computer need an operating system, it's just like the life in the dead body. For interaction between user and computer or between applications and computer , there must exist some interface. Operating system provides that interface to applications by providing an environment to run the applications and providing the hardware resources they need. OS provide interface to users by providing a medium to user to interact with computer.
The difference between graphic user interface and character user interface are its command. GUI does not need any type of command to interact with the computer, while CUI needs commands in order to interact with the computer.
CUI and GUI are acronyms that stand for different kinds of user interface systems. These are terms used in reference to computers. CUI stands for Character User Interface while GUI refers to Graphical User Interface. Though both are interfaces and serve the purpose of running the programs, they differ in their features and the control they provide to the user.
Control a system Provide a user interface Perform the above actions transparently to the user, without him knowing he is interacting with a computer
A GUI is an acronym for Graphical User Interface. A graphical user interface is made up of images (some clickable) with a user-friendly layout, which helps you interact and give commands to the software. For more information, see the related link.
DOS (or the corrected: Command Prompt): is a text based interface. Windows: is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) which is much prettier and more user-friendly. Both are operating systems for PCs. (Personal Computers).
Yes, Apple computers generally are user-friendly. The interface is clean, errors are rare, and descriptions and messages are usually easy to understand.
This would be usually referred to as a graphical user interface
The first computer with a Graphical User Interface and mouse was the Xerox Alto in the late 1970s.
Gooey is what GUI sounds like... A GUI is a Graphic User Interface... Something a user/player can input into the computer, like a button on the screen.
Yes, of course you do.
DOS is fully command based operating system. we do every job in Dos by typing commands instead by using mouse clicks like todays computers. This is because of Using GUI (Graphic user interface). GUI make computers user friendly As MS DOS is completely CLI (command line interface) based operating system hence it does not incorporate a GUI (graphical user interface) natively. This is the main difference.
What are two reasons why a graphical user interface is more user friendly than a command line interface?
A graphical user interface is more user friendly than a command line interface because users do not need to remember commands. Graphical user interfaces also have the advantage of being easier to navigate, a file could be searched for in a guess and check manner as opposed to knowing the file structure.
A mouse is a user interface device that provides input to the operating system. It allows the user to easily control a cursor on the screen for selecting objects.
Depends on your level of expertise. The entire purpose for developing windows was so that there would be a User Interface for computers. Ever tried working on code without a user Interface? If you are using Internet Explorer, Press the buttons Alt, then V, then C. That is what you would be looking at if there were no interface. If you are Using Firefox, press Alt, then V, then O. Kind of hard to read… Read More
Primarily to interface with the user.
A graphical user interface allows the computer user to operate the computer with visual assistance. In a character user interface , only instructions and codes can be seen.
A command line interface depends on users to remember text commands to give the computer in order to have actions take place. A graphical user interface allows the user to click and look around to find the option they need to run for the task they wish to execute.
The user interface is software.
Although both Windows and OSX have built in command line interfaces, the default interface uses little pictures or icons that have underlying commands that the user need not know. This type of interface is a Graphical User Interface, or GUI.
Linux user interface is optional you can have , if you prefer a Graphical user interface(GUI) otherwise a Command line interface (CLI). if you need a CLI mode login to one of the virtual terminal by pressing cntl+alt+f3.
What is a user interface that displays graphics in addition to text when it communicates to the user?

when the window is user friendly then we can easily use the user interface.
Graphic User Interface (user-friendly)
The user is the most unpredictable aspect of human-computer interface. If the user cannot easily and intuitively control the application, he or she will feel the application doesn't suit their needs, even if it clearly does.

Gui is possibly slang for the full word, "guitar." Otherwise, it is used in computers for the term, "Graphical User Interface."
When an interface is easy to use it is normally referred to as a user friendly interface. A friendly user interface saves time and does not require any special skills to operate.
Software is the interface between hardware and the user . Or to be precise it is the Operating System which serves as an interface between hardware and the user .
They don't ! The computer will work perfectly well without human interaction. The interface is solely for humans to interact.
The purpose of the user interface is to make it easier for the user to manipulate the functions of the operating system.
A computer uses a calculator to perform subtraction on the user interface. Behind the scenes, computers subtract just like humans.

You need to be more clear in what type of "interface" you are inquiring about. Linux has it's own API (Application Programming Interface) and ABI (Application Binary Interface). If you are referring to the user interface, Linux can have a GUI, a command line, or even no interface at all.
Gui stands for graphical user interface. Tui stands for text-based user interface. Outlook Express is gui. Guis assist individuals with running their computers when they are unaware of the complex coding used. Guis have pointers, pointing device, desktop, menus, windows, and icons.
An operating system provides an interface between the hardware and the user. It allows us to use computers without having to know how to program them.
It's a longer phrase than Text User Interface
Apple did not invent the graphical user interface. Xerox invented and commercialized it in 1973. Apple created the first successful computer with a graphical user interface.
U.I. stands for "User Interface." The User interface is a tailored system that allows the "User" to be able to manipulate or access the program.
