Think about it... who likes going to the Dentist-
You sit down in a chair petrified of the barbaric tools and white gloves-
You are dreading the results of your x ray and wince at the thought of him drilling into your mouth-
cavities? chipped tooth?....ROOT CANAL??? no response can be good.
your gums bleed, you get injected with Novocaine that wears out too fast yet still leaves your mouth half paralyzed-
when you are finished, you stare at the evil dentist who you must actually pay for doing all this (and most often pay more than you thought bc insurance is not so generous for dental procedures)
The poor dentist had to take out $200,00 in loans and spend 5 years of his life to fix the dental problems of unappreciative patients (often with bad breath)...
It's a tough life!
Dentists are trained to be very meticulous and to try and make things "perfect". This stress can be overwhelming and can lead a person to be suicidal if they feel they are not as "perfect" as they once were.
Up the wrong tooth! I had always heard that Psychiatrists, who after all work with mentally unbalance people all the time, had the highest incidence. I have never heard this applied to dental practitioners. Armed Forces veterans and ex-cops both having ready access to weapons, also fall-in to this deadly category.
Yeah they do have a more higher risk to commit suicide. They live in a stressful environment and have a same old routine day. So they commit suicide.
I've heard it was dentists, but I also believe retired police officers.
The Golden Gate Bridge has the most suicides
