There were over four-hundred denominations of "modern professing Christianity" back when I began studying the Bible in the '70's. There are even more today; each one professing that "their Jesus is the best Jesus out of everyone else's Jesus."
So, think about it: there can only be two possible outcomes to all of this. They ALL can't be right. Therefore, either only ONE of them is right and all the rest of them are wrong -- or THEY'RE ALL WRONG!
In the Bible, Jesus calls His Father's Sanctifying Word [the Divinely-inspired and revealed Words that "set His servants who believe those Words apart from the rest of the world for His Divine purpose" ] "THE TRUTH" [see John 17:17].
Yet, even a very shallow consideration of the matter reveals that modern professing Christianity really "cares very little about what the Bible says"... cares very little about "the Truth." That consideration involves a mere glance at the "Holy Day" Sabbaths recorded in God's Word [both annual and weekly] with the annual "holidays" [a modern derivation of 'holy days'] observed by the denominations of modern professing Christianity [and the rest of the world] today.
Q: Where in the Bible does God command men to "keep Sunday" for the weekly Sabbath? Answer: It doesn't.
The Sabbath of God is on the "seventh-day" of God's Divinely-inspired week that "remembers creation! A weekly remembrance of our Creator; it remembers that we were created by God to one day be born into His Divine, Immortal Family; and it remembers that we didn't evolve from an eternally-existing lovesick amoeba."
Jesus tells us that the weekly Sabbath was made for ALL OF MANKIND... not just for JEWS! [see Mark 2:27] And He tells us that HE IS THE LORD WHO MADE the Sabbath day on the seventh day of creation! [verse 28; Gen.2:1-3 & John 1:3]
You can prove God's weekly Sabbath in the Bible. You don't find God's commandment for "Sunday observance." Do the many denominations of modern professing Christianity care about what the Bible says?
Q: Where in the Bible does God command men to "celebrate Jesus' birthday?" The day the world calls "Christmas?" Answer: It doesn't.
The Bible commands men to "observe the yearly memorial of JESUS' DEATH!" It's called "the Passover."
"...'THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.'" (Luke 22:19 MNTMontgomery New Testament)
"...For our Paschal Lamb has already been sacrificed, CHRIST HIMSELF. So LET US KEEP THE UNENDING FEAST [of Unleavened Bread - see Lev.23 for God's list of His weekly and seven annual Holy Day Sabbaths], not with any old leaven, neither with leaven of malice, but with the Unleavened Bread of Sincerity and Truth." (I Cor.5:7-8 MNT)
You can read about Jesus' birth in the Bible... but God doesn't command His servants to celebrate it. Birthday celebrations are the pagan traditions and customs of Gentiles. Two birthdays are recorded in the Bible: one in the Old Testament for Pharaoh, and one in the New Testament for Herod. But God doesn't provide times and dates for Jesus' birth as He has for the times and seasons for the death of His Son [on the Passover]... and all of His other annual Sabbaths [see again Lev.23].
Yet, do the many denominations of modern professing Christianity care about what the Bible says in this matter? No.
So the "different denominations of [modern professing] Christianity" disagree about the Bible as being their ultimate authority, because the Bible ISN'T THEIR ULTIMATE AUTHORITY! The pagan customs and traditions OF THE WORLD is their authority. It's the world that demands "Christmas" [the Saturnalia or winter solstice] be observed... not the Bible. And it's the world that demands "Easter" [the Vernal Equinox] be observed... not the Bible. And it's the world that demands "Sunday" [the day of the sun-god Baal] be observed... not the Bible.
The deceiving, non-biblical observances of the hundreds of modern professing denominations of Christianity flies in the face of God's Revealed Word, the Bible. The Truth of God is ignored by them... or simply "unable to be seen" by them -- and they are unable to see that they are the ones about whom Jesus alerts His servants not to be misled by in His very first warning:
"'Take care,' Jesus answered, 'that NO ONE MISLEAD YOU; for MANY WILL COME IN MY NAME saying, ''I am the Christ,'' and WILL MISLEAD MANY.'" (Matt.24:4-5 MNT)
The many hundreds of professing Christian denominations aren't guided by the Bible. Each denomination lifts a few "preferred Scriptures" out of the Bible... and builds their denominational tenets and beliefs around them... not around the "entirety of the Scriptures."
The many modern professing denominations of Christianity are comparable to those Jews who "believed in Jesus" -- but DIDN'T BELIEVE ANYTHING HE SAID! They didn't believe the WORDS HE SPOKE [which are recorded in the Bible]. The Jews who are reared in the Scriptures:
"...'I do nothing on My own Authority, but that I speak just as My Father has taught Me, and He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, for I do always the things that please Him.' When He spoke in this way, MANY OF THE JEWS BELIEVED IN HIM.
"So Jesus spoke to the Jews WHO HAD BELIEVED HIM, saying: 'If YOU ABIDE IN MY TEACHING [if you Live your lives according to the Words of the Bible], YOU ARE MY TRUE DISCIPLES; and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free.'" (John 8:28-32 MNT)
This ignited an argument between Jesus and those "Jewish believers" that ended up with them TRYING TO KILL HIM!
"Then they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the Temple." (verse 59)
And what reason did Jesus provide those Jews [and modern professing Christianity today] for their misunderstanding of the Scriptures and the Truth of God?
"...'How is it that you do not understand what I say? IT IS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT LISTEN TO MY MESSAGE. You are of your father, THE DEVIL, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a manslayer [murderer] from the very beginning; and he has NO STANDING-PLACE IN THE TRUTH [the Bible; the Living Word of God - John 17:17], because Truth [the belief, living, practice of; and obedience to the Words of the Bible], because THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. Whenever he utters a LIE [Commandment 9], he speaks from his nature, for he is a LIAR and THE FATHER [originator] OF LYING. But as for Me, it is because I SPEAK THE TRUTH TO YOU that you do not believe Me.'" (verses 43-46)
"...'YOU ARE SEEKING TO KILL ME, BECAUSE MY TEACHING HAS NO PLACE IN YOU. I AM declaring what I have seen with My Father, and you are acting as you have learned from YOUR FATHER.'" (verses 37-38)
Most of the hundreds of denominations of modern professing Christianity obey the commands of "their many Jesus'"... whose words and teachings DON'T COME FROM THE BIBLE. And their "ultimate authority" isn't the Bible, but the decrees and ancient pagan customs and traditions of the god of this world.
Jesus' warning rings clear from the Bible to His True servants regarding the hypocrisy of this world's false religions:
"'Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, hypocrites,' He answered. 'As it is written, ''This people honor Me with their lips, while their hearts are far from Me; but IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, for THEIR TEACHING IS ONLY OF HUMAN PRECEPTS (Isa.29:13). YOU NEGLECT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, and hold fast THE TRADITIONS OF MEN.'' '" (Mark 7:6-8 MNT)
"'Thus by your tradition which you have handed down you set at naught the Word of God; and you do many other things like that.'" (verse 13)
"'LISTEN TO ME, all of you, and UNDERSTAND; there is nothing outside a man by entering in can defile him; but IT IS WHAT COMES FROM HIM DEFILES HIM.'" (verse 15)
"'Are even you without Understanding?' He said. 'Do you not perceive that nothing whatever from without can defile a man by entering him, because IT DOES NOT GO INTO HIS HEART, but into his belly, and passes away, ejected from him?..." (verses 18-19).
It's the Words of the Bible, the Living Bread of Life, that go into a man's mind and heart that feeds and nourishes the human spirit that matters... not the physical bread that nourishes the temporal human body:
"'The Spirit is what gives Life; the flesh is of no avail. The WORDS WHICH I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING TO YOU [all the recorded Words of the Bible], ARE SPIRIT and ARE LIFE Yet there are some of you who do not believe... This is why I told you that NO ONE CAN COME TO ME unless IT BE GIVEN HIM FROM MY FATHER.' Therefore many of His disciples drew back and no longer companied with Him." (John 6:63-66 MNT)
A true study of the Bible [all of it] reveals the true nature of the falseness of most of modern professing Christianity... whose customs and traditions come not from the Bible, nor commanded by God. And reveals why the Bible is truly not their ultimate authority in the things they do... but the vain [satanic] customs and traditions of men.
People disagree on the details of how Christianity is properly practiced.
They are a couple that are accepting of it the episcopals and another one or two that I forgot the names of. But virtually all sects and denominations are against being gay
Conflicting authority in a legal case is when two courts are not in agreement. This occurs when two different courts of equal standing disagree on something.
schism, where followers disagree on key beliefs or practices, leading to a split in the community. This division can result in different sects or denominations with distinct interpretations of the faith.
Explain Why you agree or disagree with the supposition that the apostle Paul was probably the greatest contributor to christianity's survival and growth?
Yes they can, 'on good authority' means you trust your source. If you disagree, the source of one, or both, is faulty, Never believe you alone get the right info.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or Mormon Church regards itself as a Christian Church, although most other Christian denominations disagree. In favour of the Mormon Church being a Christian religion is that the Church worships Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Saviour. This belief is central to Christianity. Against the Mormon Church being a Christian religion is the Mormon belief in polytheism. However, there is arguably an element of polytheism in at least some other Christian denominations.
Because Jainism is polytheistic, while Christianity is monotheistic.
yes because everyone has a different culture and disagree
I disagree with my dad because we have different perspectives or opinions on certain issues or topics.
One. Christianity is the act of following Jesus the Christ, having accepted that He is God's son, come to earth to pay for sins (actions that we have done to separate ourselves from God) by dying for us even thought he was blameless, then rose from the dead. There may be different denominations that interpret Scripture slightly different in the way that we are to best follow Jesus, but the core is the same. Therefore, they are not different religions. Religions that are not considered Christian, but seem similar are Mormon and Jehovah's Witness.
since the colonies belong to England, Parliament has legal authority over them.
