That is because of the quality of their fur. The domestic cat has lost much of its natural water-resistant overlayer fur, because humans prefer the softer underfur. Basically the water is a LOT harder to get out of the underfur and takes most of a day to dry. So getting wet is a lot more hussle for a domestic cat when an outdoor-living wild big cats can just shake most of the water off, just like dogs.
