they ask for blood tests because urine drug tests can only find recent drugs, within weeks to months. but with a blood test, it would show every drug you have used within the last 10 years. same with hair samples. Be careful and only provide a pee test if you used to be a meth head...

Some employers may check for synthetic marijuana if they do a blood test. Some employers won't, simply due to the fact that it is not illegal. This can depend on what type of job it is.
