Why do finches make noises?

Either you're in a place where you can't hear them or you just can't hear them. A finch won't have its beak open and have no sound come out....nor do finches talk, they sing in the way that a bird sings.

They make noise for a number of reasons - including: warning off predators, enticing a potential mate and communicating with each other.

ha ha i don't know but one thing is when finches make a song and sometimes they make noise because they are calling their parents or babies when they get lost.
