I am a straight man, so take what I say with a grain of salt, however if I had to guess I’d imagine it is affected way of speech used largely to identify themselves with other members of the lgbt community. Obviously not all gay men fit stereotype, however I imagine this is where the stereotypical “gay speech patterns” come from. Much of the way we speak is tied to how we want others to perceive us, conscience or subconsciously; this is probably no different.

Some gay people may adopt certain speech patterns or accents as a way to signal their identity within the LGBTQ+ community. This phenomenon, sometimes referred to as the "gay accent" or "gay lisp," can also be influenced by factors such as social context, environment, and personal expression. It's important to remember that not all gay people develop a different accent.

This is a myth. Gay people do not develop a different accent. If some gay men have inflection in their voices that identifies them as gay, then it was something they are born with,
