Male's need horns in order to fight, not only to win the favor of their preferred female by fighting, but also in order to protect their offspring from any predators.

A female doesn't need these horns because they usually do not fight with other Gazelles.

They aquire these horns by simple genetics. Somewhere in a male gazelles DNA there will be a few hundred slices of genes which program for it to grow horns when it reaches sexual maturity
